Event Description: The CSUF Faley Special Games is the largest event of its kind held in the county. A small CSUF school project has now grown to include thousands of developmentally disabled students from schools in Orange County who participate in the day of non-competitive games each year. This year over 2,500 special athletes will be paired with a high school volunteer buddy for the day to make the day a rewarding experience! Currently over 3,000 volunteers are registered to help make the day a success! There is no charge for schools to attend.
Sporting Events: Football Throw, Basketball Hoop Toss, Soccer Goal Kicks, T-Balls, Bean Bag Toss, 50 Yard Fun Dash, Volleyball, Frisbee Toss, Whiffle Ball and more.
Special Activities: Animal Balloons, Fire Trucks, Police Squad Cars, Magical Clowns, Live Band, Music-Man Melodies, and Lunch served.
Opening Ceremonies: Begins at 9:30 AM with Master of Ceremonies, Ed Arnold. As athletes arrive, a grand welcoming funnel of 3,000 volunteers cheer and greet them at the entrance of the games.
Special Athletes: All special athletes are winners! Each athlete goes home with a 1st place blue ribbon, game-day certificate and commemorative T-shirt.
Volunteers: All high school volunteers receive a community service certificate good for 5-6 hours and a commemorative bracelet band.
